In my session at the Colorado League of Charter Schools conference today, I learned that schools not only want advice on how to plan, but they also want templates and examples of good plans. Those of you who have good plans in place, please send them to me at dhering @ csmci. com.
I also learned that no matter how long your school has been around, a strategic plan at some point can become necessary. I met representatives from a long standing school that has not had a strategic plan for a long time. They are a successful school, but they are now in a time of transition and they need that plan to use as their road map to make sure they stay on course.
I'm happy to work with schools on their strategic plans and to facilitate strategic planning sessions. I'm looking forward to seeing what kind of plans schools come up with. Perhaps I'll get a number of good plans from Colorado schools to share in other states.
